Israel Rotates Six Brigades in Gaza to Consolidate 'Yellow Line' Security Zone
The Israeli military initiated a major force rotation on May 5, 2026, involving six brigades currently operating within the Gaza Strip. The Iron Fist Brigade (205) was replaced by paratrooper units after completing a 60-day combat deployment. The rotation is part of a broader strategy to maintain a permanent presence within the 59% of Gaza currently under Israeli control. Operations focused on reinforcing the 'Yellow Line' security border and destroying strategic tunnels discovered during the latest excavation missions in eastern Gaza districts.
