U.S. Military Supports Launch of Project Freedom in Strait of Hormuz
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the launch of 'Project Freedom' starting May 4, 2026, deploying guided-missile destroyers, over 100 aircraft, and 15,000 service members to the Strait of Hormuz to guide and protect neutral commercial shipping. The military mobilization comes amid the severe energy crisis resulting from the ongoing Iran war and the U.S. naval blockade.
