Hundreds of Families Flee Gang Clashes in Port-au-Prince
Over the weekend of April 18-19, 2026, intense fighting between rival armed gangs in two Port-au-Prince neighborhoods forced hundreds of families (approximately 1,500 people) to flee their homes in the middle of the night. Doctors Without Borders (MSF) reported that nearly 40 people sought direct refuge at their hospital facility in Cité Soleil due to the crossfire.
