Sudanese Army Chief Burhan Rejects RSF Negotiations, Vows to Continue War
General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, head of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), delivered a speech on April 29, 2026, reaffirming his categorical refusal to negotiate with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Speaking at a ceremony for senior officers in Khartoum, Burhan vowed to continue military operations until the 'rebel militia' is fully cleared from the country. This statement signals a failure of recent international mediation efforts as the conflict shifts from central Sudan toward strategic hubs in Kordofan and Blue Nile.
