Trump Cancels U.S. Envoy Peace Mission to Pakistan for Iran Talks
U.S. President Donald Trump abruptly ordered negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to cancel their flight to Islamabad for ceasefire talks with Iranian officials. Trump stated that the U.S. would not participate in long-distance meetings while 'holding all the cards' and dismissed the potential for direct engagement. The move came after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi left Pakistan without a confirmed meeting with U.S. representatives, deepening the diplomatic deadlock over the ongoing Strait of Hormuz conflict.
