Russia Launches Massive Barrage of 143 Drones and Iskander Missiles Against Ukraine
Russian forces conducted a large-scale aerial assault on Ukraine overnight between April 21 and April 22, 2026, deploying 143 drones and two Iskander-M ballistic missiles. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that while a high percentage of the incoming UAVs were intercepted by air defenses, several strikes hit energy infrastructure and military logistics hubs. This escalation follows claims by Russian General Valery Gerasimov that his forces have seized 1,700 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory in 2026.
