IDF Issues Mandatory Evacuation for Gaza City Amid Major Ground Operation
The Israel Defense Forces issued a mandatory evacuation order for all of Gaza City on April 21, 2026, ahead of what was announced as a "major action" and ground maneuver in the area. The military warned residents that remaining was "extremely dangerous" and urged them to move to the Al-Mawasi humanitarian zone. An Israeli security source reported that approximately 100,000 people had already fled the city following the announcement and prior to the order being issued.
