Senior RSF Commander Maj. Gen. al-Nour Ahmed Adam Defects to Sudanese Army
Maj. Gen. al-Nour Ahmed Adam, a high-profile commander in the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) known as al-Qubba, defected to the Sudanese Armed Forces on April 20, 2026. The defection took place in the Northern province and was welcomed by army chief Gen. Abdel-Fattah Burhan. Adam reportedly fled the RSF-controlled Darfur region following internal leadership disputes. This move occurs as the Sudan civil war enters its fourth year, marking one of the most significant defections to date.
