Israeli Drone Strike Near Litani River Violates Lebanon Ceasefire
An Israeli drone targeted the vicinity of the Litani River in the southern Lebanese town of Qaqaiyat al-Jisr on April 20, 2026. The strike occurred during a fragile 10-day ceasefire brokered between Israel and Lebanon. While no immediate casualties were reported, the strike triggered panic among thousands of displaced Lebanese who had begun returning to their villages. Israel stated it reserves the right to act against imminent threats, though Lebanon condemned the move as a violation.
