Sudanese Army Receives High-Ranking RSF Defector Major General Al-Qubba
Major General Al-Nour Ahmed Adam, known as 'Al-Qubba,' a founding member of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), defected to the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) on April 19, 2026. Al-Qubba arrived in Dongola, Northern State, with 46 combat vehicles after escaping an RSF arrest attempt in North Darfur. SAF Chairman Abdel Fattah al-Burhan personally welcomed the commander. This defection follows internal disputes regarding the military governorship of El Fasher and represents a significant blow to RSF cohesion during the fourth year of civil war.
