Intensified Clashes in Bijombo Displace 48,000
Intensified armed clashes between non-state armed groups and government forces in Bijombo, located in the Uvira Territory of South Kivu, displaced more than 48,000 people over a three-day period. Fleeing civilians sought refuge in already-saturated host communities and spontaneous sites amid deteriorating weather conditions, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
