Resumption of Large-Scale Drone Strikes Following Orthodox Easter Truce
Ukraine and Russia exchanged massive drone strikes on April 13-14, 2026, immediately following the expiration of a 32-hour Orthodox Easter ceasefire. Ukraine's Air Force reported downing 87 of 98 Russian drones, while an infrastructure facility was hit in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Conversely, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed to have intercepted 33 Ukrainian drones over Kursk and Belgorod. Ukraine alleged Russia committed over 10,700 ceasefire violations during the brief truce period.
