Global Sumud Flotilla Delays Departure to Gaza Due to Adverse Weather
The Global Sumud Flotilla, consisting of roughly 30 vessels laden with medical aid, delayed its departure from Barcelona's Port Vell to international waters on April 12, 2026, due to severe weather. The mission intends to challenge the Israeli blockade of Gaza and establish a humanitarian corridor. Organizers noted that more vessels are expected to join the convoy along the route. The delay comes amid high regional tensions following the arrest of activists during a similar mission last October.
