On April 8, 2026, the Iron Butterfly Force, a revolutionary group, successfully seized two junta security outposts in Yebyu Township, Tanintharyi Region. In a separate operation in Boatpyin Township, drone attacks conducted by resistance forces resulted in the deaths of 10 junta soldiers, including officers. These clashes occur amid widespread rejection of the military's recent 'election' results and a new genocide complaint filed against junta leader Min Aung Hlaing in Indonesia.
