A Sudanese Armed Forces airstrike hit a funeral gathering in the Nuba Mountains, West Kordofan, on March 27, 2026. The attack killed seven people and injured dozens. Following the incident, 2,800 residents from the surrounding villages fled into more remote areas of the mountains to avoid further aerial surveillance and bombardment.
