Al-Shabaab Assault on SNA Base near Ceel Dheer
An Al-Shabaab attack on a Somali National Army base near Ceel Dheer on March 25 triggered the displacement of 2,500 civilians from surrounding villages. Garowe Online reported that the ensuing firefight and fear of retaliatory strikes caused residents to flee toward more secure areas in central Galguduud. This displacement is part of a pattern where civilian populations are caught in the crossfire during the government's ongoing offensive and the insurgent group's counter-attacks in rural districts.
