Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) militants attacked three villages near Beni, North Kivu, killing civilians and burning property. In response, 5,700 people fled toward the city of Beni seeking protection from MONUSCO and FARDC forces. The UN OCHA office in Goma confirmed the displacement figures and noted that this specific incident is part of a pattern of retaliatory attacks by the ADF against civilian settlements.
